17065 area same-day crowns refinish damaged teethTeeth damaged by decay, abscess or injury get renewed with 17065 area same-day crowns. Custom-crafted by Dr. Thomas Neslund at Carlisle Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, CEREC crowns restore function and aesthetics without numerous office visits or messy oral impressions.

CEREC Crowns Restore in a Single Visit

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. Dr. Thomas Neslund use this unique type of dental crown to rebuild teeth compromised by decay, injury, malformation, or multiple fillings. It can also cover dental implants or teeth saved by root canal therapy.

Creatint complete or partial crowns (inlays or onlays), CEREC imaging and design software and in-office milling techniques produce lifelike restorations in just about 60 minutes.  A patient comes to Carlisle Family & Cosmetic Dentistry with a failing tooth and leaves with a lifelike and functional restoration that is exceptionally durable.

How a CEREC Treatment Works

After a complete oral exam,  digital X-rays and other imaging to determine if a crown is the right restorative treatment, the dentist removes decayed enamel and filling material from the tooth. He  uses an intraoral camera to image the tooth and to make a three-dimensional image, or optical impression. The dentist  uses the impression and special computer software to design a dental crown that is perfectly sized, shaped, and shaded to function well and to complement the individual’s smile.

The CEREC milling machine uses the doctor’s instructions to manufacture the crown out of a solid block of beautiful porcelain. This ceramic material is realistic-looking and strong. The process takes about 20 minutes and happens chairside. The patient can view the crown as it is fabricated. The doctor polishes the CEREC dental crown and bonds it permanently onto the re-shaped natural tooth.

CEREC Crowns are Very Like the Real Thing

Unlike gold, porcelain fused to metal or all-metal crowns, same-day crowns fit perfectly right out of the chairside milling machine. Little or no bite adjustment is required, and the crown color matches adjacent teeth, making the restoration blend in well with its neighbors. Plus, patients don’t have to wear temporary caps or wait for their crowns to return from an outside dental lab.  The restorative process is very convenient and creates a superior product.

Dentists and patients testify to the durability of CEREC crowns. With daily flossing and twice daily brushing, along with 6-month examinations and hygienic cleanings with Dr. Neslund, these amazing restorations stay in place for years and give patients functional, durable and natural-looking smiles.
