Meet Dr. Neslund
Thomas Neslund, DMD
Dr. Thomas Neslund graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1986 with a BS in Natural Sciences and a minor in Economics. While attending IUP, Dr. Neslund played soccer 4 years for the Crimson Hawks. Receiving his DMD degree from the University Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1990, Dr. Neslund took an interesting path to start his career. That year, he was commissioned in the US Public Service, Indian Health Service. Assigned to the Choctaw Indian Reservation in Philadelphia, Mississippi, he expanded his restorative, endodontic, surgical and pediatric training while fulfilling his four year commitment.
Returning to the area, Tom worked in Baltimore, Maryland and Carlisle, before opening Carlisle Family and Cosmetic Dentistry in 1998. He and his wife Nancy have been involved in the community and busy raising their three daughters. Tom was an assistant coach for the Carlisle High School Girls Soccer Team, Youth Soccer coach for six years and a former YMCA Youth Soccer Board Member. He is currently a Board Member at the Partnership for Better Health, a community foundation promoting local and regional health.
Family and health are very important to Dr. Neslund. His practice mission is to deliver the highest standard of care in a relaxed, comfortable family environment. Using positive reinforcement, promoting good oral health and creating beautiful smiles, an exceptional dental experience becomes second nature.
Dr. Neslund has studied extensively with the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education (SPEAR) since 2000. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the Pennsylvania Dental Association.
Tom likes to be active. You may see him out running, cycling or swimming in his free time.
